What are polyurethanes?

Polyurethanes are materials classified as elastomers, similar to rubber. They are obtained by the reaction of isocyanates with polyalcohols. During synthesis, the chain is extended, leading to obtaining flexible materials, characterised with the required mechanical strength and resistance to wear. The appropriate choice of ingredients in terms of quality and quantity, as well as the opportunity to use appropriate additives enables to obtain a wide range of products being improved substitutes for rubber products.
Polyurethanes are characterised by:
● high resistance to abrasion, cutting and tearing,
● high elongation when torn,
● good muffling properties and high energy absorption capacity,
● high flexibility in a wide range of hardness values,
● resistance to material aging, weather conditions, light, UV and ozone,
● good resistance to mineral oils, petrol, acids, alkalis, alcohols and many other chemical compounds,
● good adhesion to metals and other materials,
● resistance to microbes,
● ability of being made antistatic.

Asmaprene A


Characteristics: High quality cast polyurethane system with ultimate physical properties.
Application: Industrial roller and wheel coverings with ultimate cut and tear resistance. Industrial roller coverings with excellent resistance against oils, hydrocarbon solvents and alcohols (wire guide rollers). Special applications in machine- and equipment construction.
Benefits: Ultimate tensile and tear resistance, high abrasion resistance, high damping behavior.
Resistance: Generally very good resistance against oil, fats, hydrocarbon solvents, alcohols, dipropylene glycol, acetone, toluene, Methylethyl ketone. For special applications and higher concentrations contact our technical staff regarding resistance!
Working tempearture: Long-term use up to 50°C (wet), long-term use up to 80°C (dry), short-term use up to 100°C (dry), in contact with hydrocarbon solvents and alcohols depending on chemical. Not suitable for application in continuous contact with water at temperatures exceeding 50°C (danger of hydrolysis).

Asmaprene BE

Characteristics: High quality cast polyurethane system with good physical properties and very good flexibility over a broad range of hardness.
Application: High wear resistant coverings for roller and wheels in low hardness (rollers for printing, cardboard industry, and steel industry). Wear resistant, flexibility stressed coverings and molded parts
(no-crush wheels, vacuum suckers). Special applications in machine- and equipment construction (seals).
Benefits: Very good flexibility and high resilience,
good physical properties, high friction coefficient (especially with low hardness).
Resistance: Generally very good resistance against mineral oils and fats, very good resistance against release agents in concrete industry, good resistance against hydrocarbon solvents (heptanes, toluene, acetone...). For special applications and higher concentrations contact our technical staff regarding resistance!
Working tempearture: Long-term use -25 up to +80°C (dry), short-term use up to 100°C (dry). Not suitable for application in continuous contact with water at temperatures exceeding 50°C (danger of hydrolysis).
Hardness Range: 40 to 80° Shore A

Asmaprene L

Characteristics: High quality cast polyurethane system with very good physical properties and hydrolysis resistance.
Application: Industrial roller and wheel coverings with high load bearing in wet/hot environment (steel plants, chemical-physical processes). Industrial roller and wheel coverings with excellent resistance against alcohols (wire guide rollers). Wear resistant and dynamically stressed coverings and molded parts (screens, springs, seals). Special applications in machine- and equipment construction.
Benefits: Very good physical properties, very good adhesion to metal, GFK and CFK, high resilience, resistance against microbes.
Resistance: Generally very good resistance against mineral oils and fats, generally good resistance against slight acids and alkalines,
very good resistance against hydrolysis, polyethylene glycol (for contact in wire saws). For special applications and higher concentrations contact our technical staff regarding resistance!
Working tempearture: Long-term use -60 up to +80°C (dry and wet), short-term use up to +100°C (dry and wet), in contact with water and chemicals depending of concentration.
Hardness Range: 70° Shore A up to 75° Shore D

Asmaprene Q


Characteristics: Highly wear resistant cast polyurethane system with very good physical properties, especially designed for mining applications.
Application: Highly wear resistant molded parts and coverings for the mechanically wear usage (mining screens, scrapers, track pads). Industrial roller and wheel coverings, which are exposed to very strong wear (conveyor rollers in blasting plants). Special applications in machine- and equipment construction.
Benefits: Excellent resistance in the abrasive and erosive wear, very good mechanical strength, high dynamic maximum stress.
Resistance: Generally good resistance against mineral oils and fats, UV-exposure for outdoor usage, release agents in concrete processing, hydrocarbon solvents (heptane, toluene, ethyl acetate), alcohols (dipropylene glycol). Special formulation with improved microbe-resistance available. For special applications and higher concentrations, contact our technical staff regarding resistance!

Characteristics: High quality cast polyurethane system with very good mechanical properties, very good load bearing capacity and ultimate abrasion resistance over complete hardness range.
Application: Industrial roller and wheel coatings for most wear stressed applications concerning abrasion and cut resistance. Industrial roller and wheel coverings with high dynamic load capacity (heavy duty castors). Coverings and molded parts for high wear and dynamic stressed applications (scraper, screens, no-crush wheels, track pads). Special applications in machine- and equipment construction.
Benefits: Ultimate abrasion resistance over complete hardness range, ultimate resistance against UV-exposure, high cut and tear resistance, high dynamic maximum stress, high resilience and flexibility, low compression set, good resistance against hydrolysis.
Resistance: Generally good resistance against oil, fats, hydrocarbon solvents (heptane, toluene, ethyl acaetate), alcohols (dipropylene glycol), UV exposure – very low yellowing, special formulation with improved microbe-resistance available. For special applications and higher concentrations contact our technical staff regarding resistance!

Asmathane


Characteristics: Wear-resistant cast polyurethane system with good performance to price ratio.
Application: Wear resistant Coatings and molded parts for structural, and heavily mechanically stressed parts. Rolls, rollers and wheels in low dynamic stress applications.
Benefits: Very good abrasion resistance, good mechanical properties, good cut resistance, good flexible properties.
Resistance: Very good resistance to UV exposure (low yellowing), minimal color change in comparison to other aromatic-isocyanate based polyurethanes, very good resistance to mineral oils and fats, very good resistance to agents released in concrete processing, Special formula with improved microbe-resistance available on request.
Working tempearture: Long-term use from -30 to 60oC (dry), short-term up to 80oC
Hardness Range: 50 to 92° Shore A
